About Us
“A Sense Of Inner Peace And Self-Acceptance Allows A Person To Best Meet Life’s Challenges.”
About our Doctors
Dr. Alvin Burstein, Psychiatrist
I have been honored to work with patients between the ages of 11-103 for over 40 years to overcome all types of psychiatric challenges. I love the challenge of helping patients who were treatment resistant.
Psychiatry is a fascinating field of medicine which is experiencing extraordinary advances in understanding brain functioning and treatments. It is very gratifying to be able to help people by applying the newest scientific advances to making life better.
While I was born in NY, I’ve lived in AZ for the last ~30 years and much prefer the warm temperatures here. I maintain balance in my life with strong family ties, several hobbies, and diverse interests. The office is decorated (mostly) with my nature photography. I hope that you find it inviting.
Approach
I listen carefully to my patients to best understand their problems, strengths, and history. This combined with any appropriate medical considerations leads to diagnosis. My goal is to collaborate with my patient to arrive at a treatment plan which best suits their needs.

P.A. Michael Sandridge, Psychiatric Physician's Assistant
I gained an interest in mental health while working with at-risk teens and young adults as a behavioral health technician in my early twenties. This inspired me to change my education goals and pursue a degree in psychology. I chose psychiatry as my specialty because I enjoy developing a relationship with patients and watching them improve (which I found is not as common in other fields of medicine).
I was born and raised in Tennessee, but I never developed much of an accent. In my free time, I love to hike, cook with my wife, and play with our young sons.
Approach
I evaluate, diagnose, and treat individuals to help them understand and address their mental health challenges. I primarily provide medication management services but will include some brief talk therapy in our visits. I strive to facilitate a safe environment where you will feel heard and understood. I will try to customize your treatment plan with your input and your specific needs in mind. I hope to be able to work with you to help you improve your quality of life!
